Safe Haven existed as a venue for the support and socializing
for gay and straight youth. At this time we are not holding monthly meetings. We are active within
our church community to further the cause of rights for all gay and lesbian people. Please join us at

WHAT IS THE WELCOMING CONGREGATION PROGRAM?
The Welcoming Congregation Program, of the Unitarian Universalist Association, is a completely volunteer program for
congregations that see a need to become more inclusive towards bisexual, gay, lesbian, and/or transgender people.

Gay Marriage: Unitarian Universalist Leaders Speak Out
UU leaders are raising their voices in protest against the proposed constitutional amendment to define marriage
as “between one man and one woman”. UUA President Rev. Bill Sinkford issued a public statement denouncing the amendment
as a move to “enshrine discrimination” into the Constitution. UU Washington Office director, Meg Riley, wrote a
passionate letter to President Bush illuminating the impact of his actions on her own family.
